Throwing

Pots are thrown on a kick wheel. The wheel used to throw pots is a European style wheel which has flywheel that is kicked directly to provide the momentum. The wheel used for turning the pots is an English style with a crank that drives the flywheel.

Glazing

Pots are glazed when they are leather hard. This is the stage where the pots are partly drying out. They are stiff enough to handle but have not dried completely. Glazes are made from locally collected rock dusts wood ashes and clays.
